2014: Karyn B / First Court Charges (Now Expunged)
In 2014, at the age of 19 I was working as a courtesy clerk at the Waugh Chapel Safeway down the street from my house. I also had a second job which I had recently started at Frisco Taphouse. One day while at Safeway, I was in the break room and a new girl was in there. Her name was Karyn B, and I noticed she had on a band shirt (Memphis May Fire) which I listened to so we started discussing music. She asked to add me on Instagram and then told me she was applying to work at the Starbucks kiosk inside the store. Later that night we started having conversation on Instagram about Starbucks since I never had coffee from there before. About a week later I had to work both my jobs, so before leaving Safeway I asked her at the kiosk if she could make a sample tray of something that way I could drink a few to give me energy for my next job. She hands over the tray and I grab 2 cups and drink them, then go clock out and walked to Frisco which was about a 8 minute walk also in the Waugh Chapel complex. As I’m bussing at Frisco about to finish my shift the host comes and tells me that 3 of my friends were up front asking for me. I walk up there not recognizing any of them and one tells me he was going to “Kick my ass” because I “smacked his girlfriends ass behind the counter” apparently. I was surprised and confused thinking it was a joke, so I tried telling him I had no idea what was going on but we could discuss it after I got off at 9pm. After I got off work they had left so I walked over to Safeway to see my manager & ask him what was going on. He was just as confused as me, saying that Karen had those 3 guys come in to hang out with her at the Starbucks kiosk then she told him that I came behind the counter earlier that day smacking her ass telling her I was going to “fuck her later on”. I told him to watch the cameras because I never touched her nor had I ever flirted with her. He told me that he couldn’t do anything about the situation until the store manager came in and got involved. So, I went home after that and the next day a cop came by my house serving me a restraining order & she also tried to file a sexual assault charge against me. Immediately I began to freak out for many reasons especially due to the fact I didn’t do anything wrong or ever touch her. Due to the restraining order I lost both of my jobs & fell behind on bills which has effected my credit still to this day currently. I tried telling Safeway to look at the camera footage and they wouldn’t due to the situation and not “wanting to get involved”. So, the case had to go to court over & over due to me having to wait for my attorney to obtain the video surveillance. I also told my public defender that Karyn lied in her statement when pressing charges where she wrote “somehow he got my phone number and I don’t know how, and he also jumped out in front of my car as the Safeway manager walked me to the car” which the manager was going to stand up on my behalf for her lying, and I had screenshots (at the time on my old phone) of where she sent me her phone number in our Instagram chat (I took a screenshot the night everything took place and she deleted the conversation the following day). Eventually with the proof the case was dropped and I got the charge expunged from my record. I never did find out or get a explanation from Karyn B as to why she did what she did.
2015: Abbie / Second Court Case (Now Dismissed)
In 2015 I began to work as a courtesy clerk at the Safeway in Severna Park, MD. I had been moved to this location due to the previous events from working at the Safeway in Waugh Chapel. I was 20 years old upon starting there and I became friends with a guy working in the produce department named Phillip D that was 18. As we became friends, one of his buddies that would come in frequently had also became friends with me and he was also 18. His name was Cj and we would typically talk a lot outside when I had to go clean up the parking lot & round up carts. Cj would frequently talk about his ex Abbie and how crazy she was but how freaky she was. Me being young and stupid I decided that I was going to try getting to know her. Soon after I added her on Facebook, we began talking then moved the conversation to Snapchat. We began minimal flirtation and she told me she was 18. Later on in the night she asked to see a photo of my penis, so I sent it to her and she screenshot it. A school cop called the following day explaining she was 16 and from that point I was arrested a few days later during my party for my 21st birthday. The party was hosted at my coworker Andrea’s house because my parents wouldn’t let me have one at my house, I had the dj that I knew from my earlier house parties named Andrew S come spin and he also cheated on his girlfriend that night before the cops came to shut down the party and took me to the station. I was released later in the morning and I went back to Andrea’s in a taxi because I forgot my wallet. I went inside and her roommate named Kael let me in. I was friends with him on Facebook since I added Andrea’s roommates prior to the party. Prior to the party he continuously flirted when I told him to stop (screenshots below). Coming back from the holding cell, I was still quite intoxicated but he said I could go in and sleep downstairs on the couch next to his room. He tried to grope me by unzipping my pants trying to reach inside them while I was unconscious. I woke up to this, still drunk and hit him in his face. I tried to tell Andrea and got kicked out and she didn’t believe me. After that I had to go to court and I didn’t want to fight the case because I wanted to own up to my actions, but also took the deal to avoid jailtime. The judge had issued the charge as display of obscene material to minor and they had sentenced me to a year of probation. I had missed meeting my probation officer a few times because I don’t drive and couldn’t get a way there. I told my step mom several times that I needed to be on time and the days which she assured me she would but didn’t hold up to that agreement. So, they came to get me from my house on Halloween 2016. My court case was finally dropped in May 2017 after I completed my probation. Since then I have had people telling me that I “like kids” or “i’m on the sex offender registry” and other things of that nature. I also had death threats & people telling me I should “kill myself” without knowing what happened when they discovered my court case online. This information was shared by djs in mid 2016.
My conclusion of thoughts afterwards: “Apparently Abbie had set me up in order to get back at my best friend Cj trying to make him jealous, but also to try and ruin our friendship”.
